Our engineers use their expertise to assess and a variety of methods to monitor vibration and sound. The assessments can be used during pre-construction to assess the potential structural damage caused by construction. Throughout construction, we can monitor movements and vibrations that could impact the surrounding areas during construction.
Precondition & Vibration Monitoring I
This project required pile driving in the vicinity of residential, commercial and industrial buildings and structures. The pile driving generates ground vibrations, which may cause damage to surrounding structures.
CNA conducted preconstruction building condition surveys on all structures within a 225-ft radius of the pile driving. This included a total of about 350 buildings.
CNA also conducted vibration monitoring for the pile driving activities associated with 22 bridges, 9 retaining walls, and dozens of temporary retaining walls.
Precondition Survey & Vibration Monitoring II
CNA conducted preconstruction building condition surveys on all structures within a 500-ft radius of the pile driving for this project.
This included 21 residences, 2 apartment buildings, 3 commercial / industrial buildings and 1 church. CNA surveyed the interior and exterior of the structures.
