Slope & Bluff Engineering
Our engineers have the skills required to evaluate and perform thorough analyses of structures in slope and bluff environments. CNA can design and construct appropriate stabilization systems to protect existing structures and prevent future deterioration.
Bedrock Bluff Stabilization I
This 600' long by 60' tall project included demolition of the buildings built into a bedrock bluff to provide a site ready for redevelopment.
CNA designed the wall system consisting of reinforced concrete or shotcrete with a tiebacks. CNA provided evaluation, wall design, construction, and special inspections.

Bluff Stabilization II

The stabilization of this 60-foot-high bluff was required to protect the existing structure and prevent future deterioration. CNA's work involved a geological investigation and design of two-tiered, concrete retaining wall with rockbolt tiebacks.
CNA provided geological investigation, finite element analysis, preliminary and final design, plan and specification preparation, and construction engineering and administration.
Rock Bluff Stabilization III
This 60' tall rock bluff project involved mapping, surveying, and removing unstable sections. The overhangs, adverse bedding planes and joints were some of the design considerations
CNA had to address while maintaining a natural looking bluff. CNA's project designs included scaling loose rock, rock bolting, and reinforced concrete. We also performed construction administration services related to our designs.
