CNA Consulting Engineers was founded in 1979, with Charles Nelson setting the standard for underground design. CNA is known as the premier tunnel firm in Minnesota. We are a DBE/WBE certified Civil and Geotechnical engineering firm specializing in underground construction, with registered Professional Engineers and other technical and office staff offering professional engineering services to the construction industry, government agencies, communication and energy companies in the area of geotechnical, geostructural, civil, and structural engineering.

 

CNA's specialized staff has completed innovative and difficult underground construction projects without equal in Minnesota. CNA staff have degrees in Geological and Civil Engineering and are registered in the same disciplines. Training and experience range from geology, geohydrology, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, groundwater modeling, blasting, soil mechanics, rock mechanics, construction materials, geostructural and structural design. This deep broad academic and experience base permits effective interaction with design teams for a variety of projects.
